Membership

Membership is $59.95 per year and they have a savings guarantee, so if you don’t have at least $59.95 in savings during the year, they will credit your account for the difference when you renew your membership.  How do you get savings?  Thrive Market saves at least 30% off grocery store prices and you can save even more by using auto ship.  You can cancel at any time.

My lifetime savings is $1453.80.  This year, I am projected to save $447.82.  The savings makes my membership fee worth paying.  Plus, I am helping those in need.  It’s a win-win for me.

You will often receive free gifts with your order along with free samples.  There are app only specials too so, when you make your account, download the app for easy shopping.

About

Thrive Market works directly with suppliers and farmers to give access to affordable, high-quality products.  Products are as close to nature as possible and are produced from ethical and sustainable supply chains. The products they select for the marketplace reflect their values. Thrive Market is the largest non-GMO retailer in the United States and they have a list of over 500+ never ingredients. These are potentially harmful ingredients that you won’t find in their products.

Shipping is free for orders over $49 so, I just keep adding things to my cart and when I get enough for free shipping, I will place the order.   Shipping is usually very fast.  There have been some issues during the pandemic but they keep me updated.  And who hasn’t had shipping issues?

Thrive has a wide variety of categories of items to choose from.  They have pantry staples, clean beauty products, baby items, and non-toxic home cleaning supplies.  They have expanded to add meats, poultry, and seafood, and have most recently added plant based items, frozen meals, and gluten free options, like gluten free bread, pizza crust, and cookie dough.

Thrive Market also has their own brand of products that offer a good value to customers.

Thrive Gives

During the checkout process, you are able to give a percentage of your total to the Thrive Gives campaign.  To date, Thrive has given $4.5 million in healthy groceries, $1.7 million in COVID-19 relief, and $600, 000 in disaster relief.

They work with FoodCorps in high need communities across the country to give kids better foods in schools.  Another organization they partner with is Baby2Baby.  Baby2Baby provides children and families living in poverty with healthy groceries and other essentials.

Environmentally Conscious

Thrive Market is carbon-neutral.  Their warehouses are powered by wind power and they only ship by ground.  90% of their warehouse waste is recycled, composted, or reused.  Their goal is to be carbon- negative by 2025.

Why I Love Thrive Market

I live in a rural area and I don’t have access to a large variety of organic, all natural items and Thrive Market is there for me.   The items I need are shipped right to my door.  No going out to the store in search of items that might not be available for me.

Shopping is easy.  One thing I  really like is the way you can search the website for items.  You can browse items by your diet (gluten-free, vegan, ketogenic, Whole 30, or organic), by certificates ( G.A.P animal welfare certified, Certified B Corporations, Non-GMO Project certified, or Certified organic, vegan, or kosher), by health and ingredients (high fiber or protein, dye and color additive free, dairy free, SLS free, or full of omegas),  or by Environmental and Social causes (cruelty-free, made in the USA, sourced directly from farmers, family owned businesses, non toxic, made by hand, or sustainably farmed).  This makes shopping for specific diets or shopping from businesses that have values that are important to you simple and easy.

On a recent order, I added a bag of unpopped popcorn, which I don’t usually buy.  With the pandemic, lots of movie theaters had to close, leaving popcorn suppliers with an abundance of unused popcorn.  Instead of letting it go to waste, Thrive Market bought some of the unused kernels.  Now, we can have movie theater style popcorn at home and we are all helping to reduce food waste and helping those affected by the pandemic.

Things to Note

Some items have minimum purchase quantities.  This may not be good if you just want to try something to see if you like it.

During the first months of the pandemic when everyone was panic buying everything,  delivery times were greatly extended.  Now that things are more back to normal, shipping is usually pretty fast.

Sometimes searching for items can be tricky.  If you are looking for something specific, just put it in the search bar and you should be able to find it.

My Thrive Market Favorites

Thrive Market Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I always add olive oil to my cart and it is usually the Thrive Market brand.  The Thrive Market brand of olive oil is made from 100% certified organic Koroneiki olives.  It is grown, harvested, and bottled on a single estate in western Crete.   It has a great flavor and I use it in all my cooking.

Lundberg Family Farms Organic California White Jasmine Rice

Rice is one of the things that I am super picky about.  There are so many harmful things that can be found in rice so it is important to purchase rice from an organic company.  Lundberg Family Farms is committed to Eco-friendly rice farming.  Every bag is Certified Organic and the grains are tested for arsenic using safety standards set by the European Food Safety Authority.  The company is family owned and located in California. The nutty flavor of the white jasmine rice is delicious. The brown basmati and the short grain brown also taste great if you are a brown rice fan.

Himalaya Botanique Whitening Complete Care Toothpaste, Simply Mint

Toothpaste may seem like an odd thing to add to your Thrive Market cart but remember, they have some great natural, personal care options.  We recently removed fluoride from our toothpaste. As a result, the search began for a natural toothpaste that has the same consistency as fluoride filled toothpaste and one that works.  I went to the website and searched for fluoride free toothpaste and read all the reviews. This was one of 3 products that we tried and it has become a favorite in our house. I always add a tube or 2 to my order.

Alaffia Shea Butter Bubble Bath

Eucalyptus Mint and Lavender bubble bath are always in my box when it arrives.  Since I am a self professed bubble bath connoisseur, I have tried many different brands over the years and this is my go to product.  Both have amazing scents and make bubbles that last through your whole bath.  To me, there is nothing more comforting or soothing than a hot bubble bath and this is one of my favorites.

Favorite Alaffia Bubble Bath

Supporting brands that do good things is very important to me.  I have been buying Alaffia products for many years.  When I first started buying the bubble bath, the side of the bottle said that each bottle helped buy bicycles for children in Africa.  They still give bicycles to children but they do so much more.  Maternal care, education, eye glasses, and sustainable farming are all initiatives the Alaffia Foundation provides to the people of Togo, West Africa.   They are an amazing organization with such a beautiful story of love and bicycles.  You can read more about the amazing work done by the Alaffia Foundation by clicking the link below.

Maxim Hygiene Organic Cotton Balls

I found these one day when I was just a few dollars away from free shipping.  These cotton balls are chlorine-free and made with 100% organic cotton.  The cotton is grown with traditional farming methods that don’t use any pesticides or chemicals.  They are big and soft and make a great addition to my beauty routine.

Selina Naturally Light Grey Celtic Sea Salt

I purchase the fine ground sea salt in the shaker and the coarse ground in the pouch.  I use the fine ground on the table and on my popcorn.  The coarse ground goes in my grinder and I also use it on the stove top when salting my water for pasta or potatoes.   The salt is unprocessed and collected by hand and dried in the sun and wind.   It is certified organic and has a bright, fresh, salty flavor.

Other Everyday Items

Thrive Market is a great place to get everyday pantry items.   I buy ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, and pasta on a regular basis from Thrive market and their brand is a good value and tastes great.

If you are looking for some organic pantry staples, you should definitely give them a try.  Don’t forget about all the beauty products and things for children.  Yes, you can get most of these items at other places but, it is important to support businesses that value the environment and good work practices.  Plus, the shopping is easy and everything comes right to your door in carbon neutral packaging.

Use your olive oil to make air fryer baked potatoes or easy and delicious red snapper. The salt goes great on them too! Pick up a bag of popcorn to use your salt on too!
