Strawberry Daiquiri Mimosa
Jump to Recipe

It’s a great day to treat yourself to some fresh fruit mimosas! A Mimosa is a cocktail made with equal parts fresh-squeezed orange juice and sparkling wine.  Brut is the best choice because it’s not too sweet and you will be getting plenty of sugar from the orange juice.  Mimosas originate from the French wine country and were brought to England by the royals.  The cocktail then made its way to America, where it has become a favorite drink served at brunches everywhere.

How to Serve A Mimosa

To help the bubbles stay in your drink, Fresh Fruit Mimosas should be served in champagne flutes. If you don’t have champagne flutes, wine glasses can be used also.  I used wine glasses and had plenty of bubbly goodness.

Over time, we have experimented with different fruit combinations to make a variety of Mimosa flavors.  Try a peach bellini by using fresh peach juice in place of orange juice.  Or use fresh strawberries for a strawberry daiquiri mimosa. The recipe is below and they are easy to make and very yummy.  I would especially recommend the strawberry version in the spring when the strawberries are in season. Using club soda instead of alcohol will make a deliciuos cocktail for those avoidng alcohol.

I had some left-over strawberry puree so, I added it to my orange mimosa the next day.  You can’t go wrong with your favorite fruit juice so, do yourself a favor and try some new combinations.  I am sure that you will find something you love!

Picking a Good Wine

I used One Hope Sparkling Brut to make my Mimosas. When I started my blog, I knew that I wanted to showcase recipes and I wanted to be able to offer wine pairings along with some of the dishes.  As a result, I was looking for the perfect wines to promote on my blog.  I found One Hope Wine and what a find it has been.  One Hope was started by a group of friends with 168 cases of wine and a white pick-up.  Through hard work and giving back, they have created a state-of-the-art flagship winery in the heart of Napa Valley.
